Stumpy Had To Go!

Let me say, on this blog here, that I am THRILLED that Barack Obama has been voted in as the next president of the United States! I don’t usually get excited over politics, but this time I am STOKED.

Unfortunately, not all of my town feels the same way. Living in rural NH, a swing state (which swung democratic AGAIN) doesn’t mean that everyone was rooting for Obama.

In fact, most of my coworkers were for McCain. The day after elections, one of them showed up all in black, and the other came in dressed in a head scarf.

And honestly, even though we don’t see eye to eye politically, it was pretty funny. I couldn’t help myself. I laughed! And they went to great lengths to assure to me that it was all in good fun, and that they would get over the Republican’s loss. Just maybe not right away.

But that’s how my hometown deals with the elections. That and a good bottle of scotch.
