Television
So I just spent an enjoyable evening with my roommate, watching the series finale of Gilmore Girls and crying like the baby I am. I am such a sap for happy endings!

Internet plus life
I cannot describe how happy it makes me that we now have internet at my apartment- but sad a little too, to know how dependent I am on this resource. But hey, I’m not gonna have cable- how else am I going to learn about earthquakes in Haiti and how bad the roads are? Internet is the way. On a side note, I absolutely adore Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. They are officially a fave-...

Man! It’s been so long since I’ve posted!!! But I’ve been very busy…. and seduced by Twitter (I’ll admit it). But here’s something fun for you to pass the time: Me: I don’t like to make waves in my life, Meghan Meghan: Yeah, I feel ya Me: You know, it’s like that saying… ‘if it’s yellow let it mellow…” Meghan:...

The BEST Horrible in theory song lyrics ever
From “Don’t Trust Me” by 3OH!3: “Shush girl shut your lips, Do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips.” Who uses Hellen Keller as an example for sexy dancing?!?!? Apparently 3OH!3.

Finally, Hollywood Reads My Mind
So I was looking through IMDB for movies that might interest me in the future (I do this by typing in my favorite actors’ names and then seeing what’s in production for them) and when I checked Natalie Portman, I saw a movie called “Brothers”. Sounded interesting. Family betrayal, war, etc… what could be better? But now let me ask you… have you ever gotten...

History of the World According to Sarah
My sister wrote this awesome mad libs program. Here is the zany (and fabulous, imho) result: Excerpt from The Road Ahead by Bill Gates The past 5 years have been an effervescent adventure for me. It started on a day when, as a graduate student, I stood in Montpeller with my flatulent person Dolly Parton and pored over the description of a kit bra in Vogue magazine. As we read excitedly about the...

"Comme le sable sous la verre du temps, alors les...
My sister and I were thinking of all these French synonyms for different everyday phrases we were saying. One was “Just as usual” and we got stumped after about five different French phrases. On and on this went, until we came across this English kernel of truth: “Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.” Conclusion: our terribly translated title...

Okay, but this one really is amazing. And crude. But so awesome. I can’t believe it took so long for such rude humor about the Wii to come to light. Hilarious!

How Job Fairs Suck
So yesterday, I went to a job fair. And it was horrible. In this economy, probably 1,000 people showed up, and while there was supposed to be a promised 150 companies, there were about fifteen, including the army (hey, it’s great for some, not so much for others- like me). Everything was about sales, and most likely to work on commission. Needless to say, it was disappointing. It was so...

Woah. Music Overload.
I’d just like to point out that today Amazon had over 500 songs on their website available for free. While not what I would call “amazing” quality, it is definitely worth it, since it’s free. It takes up just enough of my time downloading and previewing the songs that somehow Sunday disappeared. What a life I lead.

My New Love →
Recently (okay, maybe for like the last four years or so) my obsession has been making popovers. When you need something filling, you’ve got the time, and you want something FULL of carbs and no nutrition but want to make yourself feel better by saying it’s homemade? Popovers are the answer!! There is nothing better. I love the Better Homes & Gardens Recipe- very simple- and I am...

New Year's Resolution- Belated
Like everything else I do in life, this post is truly belated, by almost two weeks! But that is how I am. My resolution, starting now, is to get some HI-larious stuff to post on this site. While family anecdotes can be stupidly funny, and elfing yourself comes in handy during the holiday season, I think it’s time I stepped it up a notch, and just posted cool things on here. And not about...

Holiday Highlights:
When speaking about the cheesecake that was made by nuns and full of alcohol, my grandmother’s oldest friend calls the nuns “foxy ladies.” Cousin: “Do people from Atlanta ever really call it HOTLanta?” Uncle: People from Altanta call it MYLanta.” Same Uncle: “My family had a beagle named Bell when I was young. She had two puppies- we named them Ding and...

And a little note on the Presidential Elections
Let me say, on this blog here, that I am THRILLED that Barack Obama has been voted in as the next president of the United States! I don’t usually get excited over politics, but this time I am STOKED. Unfortunately, not all of my town feels the same way. Living in rural NH, a swing state (which swung democratic AGAIN) doesn’t mean that everyone was rooting for Obama. In fact, most of...

Everybody Save Yourselves!!!
My home town is being attacked… BY PIGEONS!!!!!!!!!! I hate pigeons so much. They take over cities first, and coo, and flap their wings and fly right over your heads RIGHT before they crap on you. They’re evil. Extremely so. I warn the public since there is an entire flock in rural New England (and by flock I mean at least fifteen that I’ve seen all together at once). And if...

I want a car. I don’t even have my license yet, (hopefully this Tuesday) but I want a car. And I want a 1969-70 Chevrolet Chevelle. And I want it to be blue. And, of course, a good one costs at least $35,000.

What a night!
I just went to dinner at my grandparents’ house, where we ate finger foods with forks, and when I suggested we watch Stardust, they got into a fight because my grandmother wanted to watch the news. And then my grandfather ended up disliking the movie, expected it to end after an hour, and when I told him we were just stopping for the night, went “oh, ok…” Did I mention...

Ah, nighttime drama....
So last night we went out for a play, to see The Unexpected Guest. It was a good play (and I don’t usually like plays). There was all this discussion as to whodunit, and even after the show there was some speculation. We were walking outside after the play, when I hear this gem of a conversation: Girl1: “It was the butler who did it. It’s always the butler.” Girl2:...
